New Special Edition Large Acrylic Prints Now Available Of 2 Of My Favourites!

Occasionally, I will produce Single, Limited & Special Edition Prints to compliment all the prints available in the Web Shop.

I have produced 2 new Special Edition Prints (just 1 of each are available) that are now available to purchase. Both prints are printed on acrylic in a large 60x40cm dimension.

Acrylic is an expensive printing process which is printed directly onto 3mm thick acrylic and then sealed with a white background giving a stunning polished frameless look with real depth. It creates a view as if the image is back-lit which really makes the colours stand out to the viewer. I am able to offer local pickup here in São Marcos da Serra or I will personally deliver within a small radius of the central Algarve region, I can also deliver to the town of Ourique in the Alentejo.

No matter how hard I try, the beauty of these acrylic prints cannot be appreciated by a photograph and viewing is also available, please Contact Me to discuss this, the Coffee is on me!

Please note, there is only 1 print available of each image so be quick!

The first image I chose to produce was Waves At Dusk. This image was taken on Praia de São Rafael just after sunset and captures the waves washing back out to sea.

Where’s Wally And Who Is The Lookalike?

I was asked by 2 followers recently why there hasn’t been any Dog Walk photos recently. For those that don’t know me personally won’t know that Lupi, our 2nd rescue dog was tragically killed a short while ago. As you can imagine, we were devastated and we continue to grieve. However, time moves on and because we originally took Lupi as a companion for Wally we decided to rescue another dog.

Therefore, we now have Millie, as you can see, shes almost a Mini-Wally. She is 5 months old and is another rescued dog. This morning I took a few snaps of her running about.

Great News For The Lycosa Tarantula Living Near The House….But What Has She Been Up To!?

After seeing a post on a Facebook wildlife group of a possible sighting of a male Tarantula Wolf Spider, it gave me some enthusiasm to check on one of the local females, one that lives very close to the Quinta. It was quite a surprise……

The Tarantula Wolf Spider, not be confused with the Wolf Spider is the species where the original name Tarantula comes from, rather than post all the information, please see my Algarve Resident Article – Tarantula Wolf Spider.

She was at the entrance to her burrow when I arrived and as normal she wasn’t too bothered about my presence, they are not normally like this!

Final Glow Of The Day

Last night’s sunset was yet again a colourful one. Not quite as bright as the last few days, but some clouds did add to the mood. On top of (what I call) Eagle Ridge had a great view of it, I selected a young Cork Oak tree to place in the foreground. I also wanted to capture the bright glow lighting up the foreground and the tops of the Pine Trees in the valley below me.

This image along with the previous night’s Crescent Sunset are available to purchase in the shop.

Kingfishers of 2019 (The End Of This Years Project) – Framed Prints Now Available!

It started off quite a difficult task this year with the Kingfishers. The river level was a little lower than usual in late spring which didn’t provide the correct angles I was looking for with my perched portraits. It wasn’t until the juveniles left the nests that I was able to shoot at the correct angles. It really was a waiting game, which paid off.

The local Kingfishers bred very successfully this year and I had some amazing sessions with them. All my favourite photos follow below. Most of these photos and others are available to purchase in print in the Webshop.

Clicking each photo will open up the product in the shop. I am slowly updating the shop to include these prints framed. All Kingfisher photos are now available framed! To celebrate my the Kingfisher success, all Kingfisher prints (including framed) have been discounted until the end of September!

Please note, currently all framed prints are available for local pickup only and can be viewed (by appointment only) in my viewing gallery here at the Quinta. I can also meet and greet in the central Algarve area!

The Devil Cat!

I returned yesterday evening after my session with the Little Owl and Sammy, one of our many rescue cats, was sitting looking at me with a narrow band of sunset light beaming through a nearby window.

As I was returning my camera from the session to my studio, I picked it up and underexposed the shot to only highlight the beam of light. It created this amazingly powerful shot.
