Everything But The Birds…

It has been a while since my Reflection Pool was completed, certainly enough time for the local birds to get used to it. This morning, I decided to have a session in there. I was in there from 8:20am until 12:00pm and nothing, absolutely nothing visited. There were plenty of birds all around me but for some reason nothing came down to the water. Luckily my WiFi from the house reaches there so at least I could entertain myself whilst I waited.

It is such a shame because as you can see in the photo below, the scene is looking really nice. Even hidden down behind the wood there is a tray with live Mealworms to try and attract the birds but still I await a photo.

Next Nature Photography Walk Is Saturday 27th October

Due to some other commitments I have been struggling to organise the next Nature Photography Walk. However, the next date is now fixed for Saturday 27th October.

Most of the summer visiting birds have either left or will be leaving soon and making way for our winter visitors. If course, the end of October could mean that some rain has come along but we’ll keep an eye on the weather beforehand.

Don’t forget that although these walks are free, I do ask for registration so that I know the numbers. The route is yet to be planned but I will update you on this when I put the route together.

A New Bodge-Job Rogers Project

For those that have followed my exploits for a few years will know that I love the “behind the scenes” preparation of getting a great shot. Sometimes it’s like the TV show Scrapheap Challenge. I’ve been wanting to build this project for a while and this morning I found just the perfect prop for my new Bodge-Job Rogers Project. A broken water-heating solar panel, so I got to work to strip it down leaving just the aluminium casing.

My workshops cater for all abilities, even if you are a complete newcomer, I can also loan a camera free of charge if you currently do not own one.

As Featured In “Enjoy The Algarve” Online Magazine

I have appeared briefly in the online magazine, Enjoy The Algarve before. It was a photo of the White Storks fighting in Silves. This made up part of a feature about taking photos whilst on holiday in the Algarve.

I was delighted when Yayeri (Editor of Enjoy The Algarve) asked if she could use one of my Bee Eater photos in her “Picture Perfect” feature. The photo was from a session I had back April.
