Long Exposure Sunset

I had just finished working on a new feature at my “A Rocha” area, more details soon, and I noticed that the sky was turning into a stunning colour-fest. A quick grab of the camera and I noticed that although the wind at ground level was calm the clouds were moving south quickly.

I decided to try something different and take a long exposure of a colourful sunset to blur the moving clouds.

Morning Dog Walk: The Warm December Sun

This morning’s walk with Wally was a warm one, although I was a little later than usual. It was 10am and already 17 deg up here in the Algarve Hills. I stopped briefly to admire the views as I headed up Eagle Ridge (some of you who come on my walks will remember this ridge) and snapped this picture of the sun shining through a Cork Oak.

Always Shoot With The Sun Over Your Shoulder?….Yeah Right!

You may have heard this spoken many times, “shoot with the sun over your shoulder”, this is so that you get a good light falling on your subject. Of course, this isn’t a rule as such, but often given as advice. However, shooting with the sun at different angles can be creative.

This morning, Wally was taking a drink from the river and he was in direct line of the sun. I took a shot and with some “mood” editing in Lightroom came away with this shot. I love that his tongue is lit.
