There Will Be No More “Wally Walks”…..

….but there will be “Wally & Lupi Walks”.

At the weekends Fair we spotted Lupi at the Lagos Canil (Lagos Dog Kennels) Stand and immediately both agreed that he’d be the perfect brother for Wally.

It’s going to take a while to settle him in as he is a little timid. He also is hard of hearing and possibly deaf but I have noticed that he reacts to a loud high-pitched whistle.

As you can see, Wally is so happy with his company. I look forward to bringing you some exciting stories of our morning walks.

Here they are in the back of the car on the way home today.

Morning Dog Walk: Another Tarantula Has Moved In!

A while back I posted that the first Female Tarantula Wolf Spider that I spotted had since died and that Ants had moved into the burrow.

However, this morning, I noticed something new! The very same burrow now has another weaved opening. This is much smaller than previously so therefore could be one of the offspring from last year who has decided to take the burrow on.

I couldn’t see any activity, but I will continue to monitor, the 2nd burrow I found which is very near to the house has a very active female, I will grab some photos soon.

Wally-In-Nature

Nothing highlights my Dogs-In-Nature Photo Shoot more than Wally this morning stepping into sunlight just breaking through the river bank tree line. This truly is a “Dog In Nature”

I watched and waited for him to wander into this light beam before snapping this shot of him.

Book your Dog’s photo shoot today! I will be at the International Algarve Fair in Fatacil this coming weekend, why not pop along and have a chat! I will also be handing out 10% discount vouchers too!

Morning Dog Walk: Today It’s All About Wally And Sort Of The Kingfishers

I have been so busy the last week, either shooting Real Estate or stuck in my studio processing Real Estate photos. Last night we decided to head into the village for some well-earned beverages and Wally was looking really sad……..

….he’d clearly been missing his daddy. We came back last night and he was like my shadow, it kept nudging me to get under my arm for a cuddle.

So this morning we headed out to the river for a big splash about, I took some photos and today, I’m going to spend most of the day with him! The river level is dropping quickly and will soon dry out leaving large pools. It’s been an issue for my Kingfisher perch because every time I place it in location, before I get a chance to photograph them, the river is too shallow. This morning we wandered further upstream and have located a place I thought was perfect for the Kingfishers. The fish are considerably larger and the river will pool here, soon enough from behind an overhanging tree I heard a splash followed by the high-pitched call of a Kingfisher. I watched it fly away complete with a fish. 5 minutes later it (or another one) returned. So yet again, I will be relocating the perch in hope of some close-up shots.

Here is Wally splashing around enjoying life, as usual!

Don’t forget about my Dogs-In-Nature Photo Shoots capture your own best friend in stunning quality as above!

Morning Dog Walk: A Ladder Snake Basking In The Morning Sun (With Video)

I take a camera along on my Dog Walks to bring you some of the sightings that I see on my morning walks, these photos are rarely going to be great quality as its hard enough keeping an energetic Dog entertained and get close enough to anything. They also help me identify where species are so that I can plan to return.

Walking in one of my favourite areas with Wally this morning and we spotted a Ladder Snake basking in the sun. I think it had also recently eaten a meal which is maybe why it was in no rush to move away.
