Female Kestrel With Her Dinner

2021 hasn’t been a great start for me personally, with the ANAC delaying the EU-wide Drone regulations and then the issues surrounding shipping products to the UK. However, here is something that certainly cheered me up.

It’s a fresh edit of a shot of a female Common Kestrel with a mouse that I shot back in 2015 in Worcestershire, England. With processing software becoming far more advanced in the last 5 years, I took a new approach at processing this image.

I’m sure you’ll agree, she’s a stunner! Fancy her on your wall, then she is available to purchase in print.

Sunset At Carvoeiro

On Friday after an amazing session at Ponta da Piedade I decided to also shoot a sunset at Carvoeiro. So after scouting during the afternoon I returned before sunset to shoot.

The actual sunset was a bit disappointing as some haze arrived (see 2nd photo), but I stayed for the “2nd sunset”, the time around 20 minutes after sunset which can turn any haze amazing colours. I wasn’t disappointed and snapped this great colourful shot.

This first photo, titled “Final Daylight” is available to purchase (framed and unframed) in the Web Shop, click HERE to purchase.

Sunrise At Ponta Da Piedade, Lagos

Ponta da Piedade is a stunning location near Lagos and can be found on the end of the headland, where there is a lighthouse too. The waterside at Ponta da Piedade is reached by what seems like thousands of steps and at 6am in December it is dark, completely dark. Armed with a powerful Mountain Bike LED light I reach the bottom only to be greeted with quite a rough sea. It was too dangerous to stand on the man-made concrete pad so changed my location to slightly higher up than planned. My plans of capturing the first light of the sun peeking around the rock formation was still perfect. As I waited everything became brighter and eventually I was bathed in sunshine capturing this shot which I have titled “Sunlight Arrives”.

It is available in print (framed and unframed) in the web shop, more details HERE.

Sunset At Praia de Vale Centeanes

This is a photo from back in February 2018. It was originally just a test shot to confirm the shutter speed with a filter attached, however, I’ve always loved the way the waves are washing over the rocks.

Therefore, as it’s yet another rainy day, I have decided to process this image and it is also now available for sale in print (framed or unframed). Click HERE for the product page.

Abandoned (Re-Edit)

This photo was shot back in October 2017 and I was never really happy with my final processing so today, I spent some time re-working it.

The photo is a long exposure of 20 seconds and I was triggering the flash remotely, however, I couldn’t get the light correct with a single flash. Therefore, during the 20 seconds, I have run inside the windmill and manually fired the flash twice, once at the walls and once directly pointing through the doorway giving this mysterious feel that it may not be abandoned.

This image is available in print (framed and unframed) in the Web Shop. It’s also this weeks’ Featured Print, so is available with a small discount.
