What is the group size?
Each workshop has a maximum of 6 attendees. Not only does this create a nice atmosphere but also ensures enough time is available for all.
What equipment will I need?
This course is designed for any camera that has the ability to move away from the Automatic settings, this could be a DSLR, Mirrorless, Bridge or even a compact camera. If you are unsure if your camera is suitable, please Contact Me.
I currently don’t own a camera, is there a loan available?
Yes! I have a limited supply of both DLSR and Bridge cameras and there is no extra cost. This is a great way to give photography a try before investing in your own equipment. Please Contact Me before booking to ensure a loan camera is available for your day.
Is this workshop suitable for Mobile Phone and Tablet Photography?
I love Mobile Phone Photography but due to their technical restrictions, this workshop is not suitable, however, keep a look out for my Mobile Photography Workshops coming in 2022!
What topics are covered?
- Part One
- What is Photography? – Learn how to appreciate light
- Camera Technology – A quick introduction to some of the technology
- The Photographer vs Equipment – Learn different techniques of positioning in conjunction with lens “length”
- Exposure – Control the amount of light and the artistic effect it creates
- Camera Shooting Modes – Learn the various ways your camera captures pictures
- Part Two
- Metering – How does your camera evaluate the light and how to override its decision making
- White Balance – Control and explore colour correction
- Focus – Learn how to control the advanced features of your camera’s autofocus
- Composition – Learn the rules of composition and then completely break them!
Both parts will include a mixture of theory and fun practical exercises
What day are the workshops held?
Currently all workshops are on the 2nd Saturday (with possible exceptions) of every month. Part 1 and Part 2 alternate on these dates. For instance, if Part 1 is on the 2nd Saturday in June, Part 2 will be the 2nd Saturday in July
Why is there a gap between the two Parts?
The time between each Part is useful for attendees to master the techniques from Part 1 and will be provided with some simple tasks to return in Part 2 with some photographs…….. Yes, homework, but optional!
Can I change Part 2 to a different date?
I strongly recommend that you do not change to a different date as too long a gap between each Part may hinder the learning process. It also makes availability to other attendees limited. However, if you insist then I can make amendments to move you to a different date.
What time do the workshops begin and end?
Currently, all workshops begin at 1pm and end at 5pm
Where is Parchal and what is Boogie Bounce Portugal?
Boogie Bounce Portugal is “…a fun way of bouncing yourself back into fitness. Suitable for all ages and abilities…” and it is a pleasure to be utilising one of the large rooms available in the same building. Parchal is a town located in the Lagoa council and is a short distance from both Portimão & Lagoa. Google Map
Are refreshments available?
Complimentary Coffee, Tea and Water will be available, of course, feel free to bring your own too!
What language are the sessions delivered in?
Currently, the sessions are only available in English.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payment is required in advance by either PayPal (inc Credit/Debit card without a PayPal account) or Bank Transfer (IBAN).
Is there a minimum number of attendees required?
