** 20% OFF ALL ACRYLIC PRINTS UNTIL MARCH 31ST **

Not the Siskin shot I was after, but it was still good to be close up.

The light was great this afternoon, so I put up my popup hide close to one of the feeding areas I have in the garden in the hope that the pair of Siskins would visit. I saw them this morning at another feeding area I have.

The male did turn up, but very briefly and he flew straight to the Nyger Seed Feeder rather than going via one of the many perches I have setup.

I don’t normally take photos of birds on a feeder, but couldn’t resit this one.

Nuthatch in the Golden Hour

This morning the light mist was creating a nice golden glow just after sunrise.

There was a lot of activity with Sparrows and Blackbirds building nests. I also saw a Mistle Thrush in a neighbouring field so I’ll be keeping an eye out for them again (Story from last year).

A pair of Nuthatches were going up and down one of our Oak Trees, always amazes me how they can descend head-first down a tree.

Here’s a photo I managed to get of one of them.

Testing the new Bushnell NatureView Cam HD Max Live View (Video)

birdfeedersBack last year, I setup a Bushnell NatureView MAX HD camera to capture footage of the Foxes that visit the garden overnight. Although I got some good footage, it wasn’t without frustration. I had the camera exchanged 5 times with various issues from not triggering to crackling audio and eventually I gave up and returned it for a refund.

However, since not having a “trail cam”, I’ve felt a missing gap in my arsenal. Bushnell have recently released a new camera in the line up, the Bushnell NatureView Cam HD Max Live View which has some improvements including an upgrade to 14mp (from 8mp) and a handy external screen for better alignment (although it can’t be used when mounted in a tripod as the screen port is on the bottom).

Grumpy Robin

You may have seen Grumpy Cat doing the rounds on the Internet, but this morning I found Grumpy Robin.

Maybe he wasn’t happy that we’ve had a couple of inches of snow. However, he has an abundance of Suet to feed on in the garden!

Another Sparrow Shot from the Reflection Pool

Here’s another shot from my DIY Reflection Pool.

As it was just a test setup, I’ve dismantled it again now, but will be rebuilding it again soon in a slightly different layout and hopefully a different location to try and get a better background.
