This week a personal favourite of mine which also reminds me of some memorable early mornings and early evenings photographing a pair of over-wintering Short-Eared Owls near Derby, England back in 2016.
I was always in position before the sunrise and this particular morning a “Shortie” was out hunting when I arrived. The sun was just rising above the horizon and didn’t give enough light to capture this shot with detail so I used the darkness in my favor and under-exposed the shot resulting in just the sun light being exposed. This created a fantastic backlit on the wings giving a really powerful image.
As usual, the Featured Image is discounted and is available in both framed and unframed prints.
