I enjoy photography for my own happiness and relaxation and don’t often explore the world of competitions. However, here are the awards that I have gained as a photographer.

REWILDING PORTUGAL PHOTOGRAPH OF THE YEAR 2025 (FAUNA CATEGORY) – 2ND PLACE

It was an honour to take the 2nd place of Rewilding Portugal Photograph of the Year 2025 in the Fauna category. It came second to an incredible photograph of a Lynx, one animal I would absolutely love to photograph, so well a deserved first prize. A special exhibition print is available to view at my My Permanent Exhibition inside Café Aliança in Alvor.

PHOTOPILLER AWARD OCTOBER 2018

The Full Moon was scheduled to rise at exactly the same time as Sunset (as it always does)
in the south of Portugal and knew it would rise Orange. By using PhotoPills (Sun/Moon/Stars tracker) I was able to position myself on a ridge facing the Windmill and using a 500mm lens resulted in a compressed scene showcasing the large Moon as it appeared. It appears in the 2018 PhotoPiller of the Year eBook which can be downloaded (for free) from the PhotoPills Website.

BRITPART CALENDAR 2015 – WINNER

When I lived in the UK, I was a Landrover Defender owner and loved to modify and drive it off-road. I wanted a specialist diagnostic tool that Britpart made, so I entered my “Milky Way Defender” photograph and won first prize which enabled me to obtain the tool.
