I am often asked how I manage to get my bird photos with such great detail and there are many steps to this process; Planning, Photographing & Post-processing.

All 3 parts to the process is critical and there’s nothing more than the enjoyment of seeing the work from the first 2 parts within Lightroom for the first time and using a little post-processing to add my own final touches.

For years I have been using my own custom Brush Presets in Adobe Lightroom, now of course, called Adobe Lightroom Classic (due to the new variant available called Lightroom CC). As I have been asked on many occasions on my own approach and the answer is always the same that you need to work your own approach and define your own style. However, the Brush Presets I use are now available to purchase to help you find your own style.

This pack of 20 of my own Brush Presets is the ones I commonly use to process my bird photographs, although they are a baseline definition and I often tweak them too. It’s important to understand what of the sliders in Lightroom does and these Brush Presets will give you a starting point to understand and even adapt them for your own use. Even though these Brush Presets are intended for post-processing bird photography, they can be useful in many other scenarios too.
