This week’s featured print is a shot of dusk at the amazing seaside village of Burgau. Whilst I was taking this shot, I could hear the group of people sat at the table near the slope to the beach commenting that they hoped that “The photograph won’t fall from the cliff”. I was in a safe place but it may have looked a bit dangerous from their position.
Fast forward a few days and I was displaying this image as part of my stand at the Aljezur International School Christmas Fair. The group had came to the fair and noticed the photo, when they read the information badge showing the date, they instantly realised that it was them in the photography. Of course, they purchased an A3 sized framed print as a memory!
The dusk colours were amazing that evening which made the photograph a great image of a great coastal gem.
As always, the Featured Image has a discount across all variations.
As mentioned a short while ago, I have been working on some Digital Artwork. I can now announce that I have selected 5 of my images and I have been transforming them into Digital Art to create a collection of a new and different approach to my work.
This collection is a limited edition production and each image will only be printed and sold with 100 copies (each print individually numbered). They are available individually or can be purchased as the entire Wild Portugal Digital Artwork Collection which gives all 5 images for the price of 4.
The square images are framed in a black 30x30cm glass fronted frame and a large white matt-board frames the 17x17cm image. I really feel this brings a different and unique perspective of the wildlife of Portugal. As always, these images are available to view in my Gallery Room by appointment.
Here are the images available in the collection, click the picture to view in the shop along with a view of them framed.
Although I have been a photographer for quite some time, it still leaves me speechless and humble (although many will disagree with the speechless bit) when my goal of making people go “WOW!” is acheived.
Yesterday’s Christmas Fair in Almádena did just that. As an artist, when I shoot, process, print and frame my photographs the goal is to share the passion of capturing my images to all. So when a response such as yesterday resulting in so many of my prints being sold and taken home (along with my calendars) it is a feeling that is difficult to describe.
I want to thank everyone who stopped by viewed and chatted about my work and of course, an extended thanks to the many people who purchased prints. It really is a special feeling knowing that the work I have created is hanging on somebody’s wall to be admired. It was also good to meet many of my Facebook and blog followers too!
Due to an unforseen issue, I won’t be able to make the fair in Ferragudo today, but have added a new fair at the Smokehouse & Tapas Bar in Carvoeiro on Sunday 8th December, I look forward to displaying more work and meeting new people there!
It’s taken a long time updating the entire web shop, but all of my available prints are now available to purchase framed in either 50x40cm (A3 Print) or 50x30cm (A4 Print) and come in 4 colour choices of Black, Silver, White and Wood. You may even notice images being updated to include smaller 20x15cm frames, again, all prints will be available in this size within the next few days.
At this stage, framed prints are only available to either be collected from here at the Quinta near São Marcos da Serra (by appointment only) or I can arrange a meet & greet in the central Algarve area. For a small fee, I maybe able to personally deliver to your location outside of the central Algarve location (rest of the Algarve and lower Alentejo only), please Contact Me for more information.
I am also now able to offer a viewing gallery for your chosen print along with any other prints available to purchase right here at the Quinta, again, this is strictly by appointment only.
The Webshop also gives you the chance to view a print in a digital impression of your choice of frame size and colour.
Back in June I displayed at the International Show at Fatacil, Lagoa and I created a one-off collection showcasing some of my European Bee-Eater photos from 2018 and 2019.
It has been created as a never to be reproduced collection. Whilst there was a great deal of interest in this collection it remained unsold at the show. This collection is mounted in a white deep box frame measuring 30x90cm with each of the 5 photographs measuring 13x18cm.
It is now available to purchase as a unique single edition in the Web Shop. Please note, as with all my framed prints, this is collection (or meet and greet in Central Algarve) only.
Salgados has a large number of Glossy Ibis currently, certainly in the hundreds if not more. However, the majority of them start heading a short distance west to their roosting grounds around an hour before sunset. This daily migration continues until sunset.
Here is one of the last flocks to leave whilst I was there a few days ago. Glossy Ibis in Portugal is a huge success story as they were a very rare bird just over 10 years ago and now the numbers are huge and increasing. More details soon as I will be writing next months article in the Algarve Resident all about these stunning birds. Not sure what they look like? Take a look Here.
