I stopped placing signatures on photos a long time ago for a few reasons, but mainly because I’m not a fan of the fancy digital signatures that are either created in Photoshop or have a professional to create one, in my opinion, it doesn’t add any personal touch unless it is a handwritten one.
However, I am being asked more and more to sign photographs and even my yearly calendars. Now, for those that know me well will know just how terrible my handwriting is, it’s so bad that I often can’t even read my own writing and therefore my signature is no work of art either. So I have been working on a new signature that is very recognisable and this is now available as a free option on any print purchased from the Shop. All Single and Limited Editions will automatically have the signature along with being a numbered print.
The option is available on each print available as shown in the image below. It defaults to “No”, simply change the option to “Yes” if required.
I’ve had a number of prints purchased recently as gifts and have therefore decided to add a new Gift Voucher to the shop.
Gift Vouchers for prints are now available for both A3 and A4 sized prints which compliments the already available Dog Photo Shoot Gift Vouchers and Workshop Gift Vouchers. The voucher will come as a digital file for you to print and give to the recipient, on the voucher will be a code that can be used directly in the shop at the checkout stage. Occasionally, I print some of my favoured and colourful work on Acrylic. This is an expensive process where the image is printed onto a piece of acrylic and then sealed at the back with white background. The effect is amazing as it allows light to enter the acrylic and make the photograph look like it’s back-lit.
I can now announce 4 new photographs in special edition 60x40cm Acrylic prints of Carvoeiro, Burgau, Praia de São Rafael and one of my best sellers, the Hazy Sunset at Arco de Albandeira.
These acrylics can be viewed at my Gallery Room by appointment near São Marcos da Serra or I can deliver or meet in the central Algarve area.
Click on each image to view in the online shop, the original photos are also shown below too.
This week’s featured print is a shot of dusk at the amazing seaside village of Burgau. Whilst I was taking this shot, I could hear the group of people sat at the table near the slope to the beach commenting that they hoped that “The photograph won’t fall from the cliff”. I was in a safe place but it may have looked a bit dangerous from their position.
Fast forward a few days and I was displaying this image as part of my stand at the Aljezur International School Christmas Fair. The group had came to the fair and noticed the photo, when they read the information badge showing the date, they instantly realised that it was them in the photography. Of course, they purchased an A3 sized framed print as a memory!
The dusk colours were amazing that evening which made the photograph a great image of a great coastal gem.
As always, the Featured Image has a discount across all variations.
Although I have been a photographer for quite some time, it still leaves me speechless and humble (although many will disagree with the speechless bit) when my goal of making people go “WOW!” is acheived.
Yesterday’s Christmas Fair in Almádena did just that. As an artist, when I shoot, process, print and frame my photographs the goal is to share the passion of capturing my images to all. So when a response such as yesterday resulting in so many of my prints being sold and taken home (along with my calendars) it is a feeling that is difficult to describe.
I want to thank everyone who stopped by viewed and chatted about my work and of course, an extended thanks to the many people who purchased prints. It really is a special feeling knowing that the work I have created is hanging on somebody’s wall to be admired. It was also good to meet many of my Facebook and blog followers too!
Due to an unforseen issue, I won’t be able to make the fair in Ferragudo today, but have added a new fair at the Smokehouse & Tapas Bar in Carvoeiro on Sunday 8th December, I look forward to displaying more work and meeting new people there!
